Personally: Nicholas Zacharczenko D.D.S., MSD., RPh., (Dr. Zach) was born in Buffalo, N.Y., and grew up in Delhi, N.Y. He graduated from Albany College of Pharmacy in 1982 and New York University College of Dentistry in 1986, where he finished third in his class. Dr. Zach is a member of the exclusive National Dental Honor Society (Omicron Kappa Upsilon). A very small percentage of each graduating dental school class is selected for membership. He also received graduation awards for excellence in periodontology and overall scholarship. He completed a rigorous three year residency program specializing in prosthodontics at the Manhattan VA Hospital. This dental residency is considered one of the top in the country. Dr. Zach attends numerous continuing education courses to stay current in the constantly changing dental world. Dr. Zach publishes extensively in pharmacy, dental and nature journals as well as pharmacy textbooks. You can read his articles in Pharmacy Times, Drug Topics and Kaatskill Life Magazines. He and his daughter routinely collaborate to write nature articles together (she is currently studying applied zoology at a college in Canada). His other pursuits include tennis (he is a 4.5 rated player and plays in area leagues and tournaments). He is also a NFPT certified personal fitness trainer. An avid sprinter, he is coached by his daughter - former standout hurdler and runner at BHBL High School, and his son - varsity swim team captain, varsity track and field captain and all-star sprinter at Albany Academy. Dr. Zach competes in various track meets in the area. Also a certified Master Gardener, he tends to his beloved blueberry bushes as often as he can!
